1.) How was the standard of living affected by the Industrial Revolution?
The industrialization ‘improved their standard of living’ because they were able to move away from the inner city, where there was a lot of poverty, and into the suburbs. They were able to move up in society, and overall, everything about their life changed for the better.
2.) Evaluate this claim: “The New Deal was a wise series of government actions that healed the problems afflicting the economy.”
The New Deal was most certainly responsible for some powerful and important accomplishments. It put people back to work. It saved capitalism. It restored faith in the American economic system, while at the same time it revived a sense of hope in the American people. Although ‘The New Deal’ had its benefits, it didn’t stop racism. There was still a great spread of race problems and discrimination. I’d say that this claim holds a lot of truth to it!
