If we are talking about getting a corporate kind-of-a job, then I have a few things to say.
First of all, I am pretty positive that those who will interview you, are not looking for some kind of letter on a paper and by that I mean letter A’s or B’s as a college degree. I believe that what they are looking for is a skill! They will first and foremost look for what you are able to provide to the company for its success. The fancy letters on a degree don’t say anything about what you can do. Soo what I would do first, is to make sure I provide the interviewer all the skills I know and provide a message of how I plan to help the company with the knowledge I have and the desire I have to apply that knowledge for the success of the company!
The very next thing I would do, is prepare the knowledge I can obtain about the company. For example, I’ll research what the company does, what are it’s goals, what is their current plan write everything down and show the interviewer that you are well informed, prepared, and you came to help provide the solution for their current plan. That’s exactly what I would do next! I would research everything I should know about the company, find out what problem they are trying to solve, so that with the knowledge and the skills I have, I’m able to provide the interviewer with all the info I was able to find + provide a solution to it and how I’m able to do it. I bet you 110% the interviewer is more interested in this kind of information, rather than just providing a fancy letter ‘A’ on the report card.
Another thing you can absolutely add, is if you know another language besides English. You probably already know how beneficial it is knowing another language, and that can’t be emphasized enough! I would definitely let the interviewer know that I know Russian language very fluently and can read, write, type, and speak in it! If you don’t know another language I strongly recommend learning one (to make it easier learn the language that’s closest to the one you already know, if you know English I suggest learning Spanish, because its closer and more easy to learn) during your spare time!
In conclusion, I would make sure to provide the interviewer all the skills I know and provide a message of how I plan to help the company with the knowledge I have and the desire I have to apply that knowledge for the success of the company, research everything I should know about the company, find out what problem they are trying to solve, so that with the knowledge and the skills I have, I’m able to provide the interviewer with all the info I was able to find + provide a solution to it and how I’m able to do it, and as an additional feature I would tell the interviewer I’m able to speak in another language fluently besides English!
